Long Over Due Update

We have been back to school now for 3 weeks, summer is officially over and here comes 1st, 3rd and FIFTH grade. I am still at the same job and things got rough. I'm writing it now because it has changed from the first two weeks and I can look at things more positively.

Lets back up a little, I was switched into another class to be with some students that moved up. BUT, it started off so horrible, the class room was run so different and I was being treated disrespectful. I was miserable, I cried, and was snappy with my family. I was stuck, I didn't want to quit! I don't like to quit things without trying to fix them first, the thought of leaving some of the kids was breaking my heart. Yet, I was so sad and stressed!!

I started standing up for myself, I did my job and I did it well.  Things started to change. We are over run with kids and not enough of us, that is hopefully due to change. Behaviors are off the charts but so is the adorable sweetness, what to do.

We have a new girl and she was giving us a real hard time, dirty mouth, refusal, running away etc etc.  Now, she is this amazing girl that has settled in. She LOVES Sonic and carried him everywhere.  She is quite the artist, She drew me these, without copy from anything.

Leonie got jealous and gave me this:) I just love these girls.

As for my girls

Masie is doing well, she had a bit of a rough start too. I guess the six grade teachers were voicing their concerns that kids are coming to middle school not know cursive. They had to change things fast, now everything is written in cursive and she as well as almost all her peers I'm sure were struggling. She couldn't read the class instructions, it took her triple the time to do her homework. She was pretty stress, still is a little but not much.  Other than that she is doing great, her teacher loves her and always tells me she works hard and listens.  I guess the strain of 5th grade was a shock but she is working it out.

Taylor is doing fantastic, what a little star, her teacher Mr. Goodier is so wonderful and always tells me she is a pleasure to teach. She is keeping up with the work, handing in perfect homework and is currently being used to calm a table down with her natural sweetness.

Hailey is horrible!! I have one of those kids! Me! Her teacher came to me and told me that she didn't want to say anything and she was trying to handle it in the class but Hailey distracting her from her job.  This week Hailey has refused to participate in group activities. Asked to go to the nurse about 10 times a day and not doing her in class assignments. I was shocked and so mad at Hailey. I told her she needed to be strict and punish her, and unless she has blood dripping or obviously sick she is not to go to the nurse. Hailey had a few very serious chats, plus all of her things were taken until she shows better behavior. She wrote an apology letter to her teacher and Friday was good, so we will see if it continues.

The house

Finally the day has come for us to move from this white trash, stupid small house.  Thursday is the day people!! We are hoping Monday or Tuesday as we have seen Maintenance has been in so it should be ready to hand over. I think everything will calm down once we are in there. I don't think I can express the stress that living in this house has and is causing all of us.  I will update on the house as soon as I know. It is gorgeous and BIG, double garage and wall in yard. Cant wait to show you pictures.
