150 Bars of Chocolate

Yep you read right, Masie and Taylor each got a box as well but its Hailey's first time so I decided to blog just her. She was excited to get going with the selling.
She took Taylor for sisterly help.
Then her little Kindergartner legs got tired, so Daddy to the rescue.
Daddy got bored and held her like a football.
Touchdown Dance! 14 bars of chocolate left out of 50 and she says "no more"
Today we sold all three boxes on base......

The Tortoise and the Hare

Well bunny but it doesn't have the same ring to it, we have two compartments in a large cage outside. One for Mango and one for Welly & Boots.  Boots always digs under and sleeps with the bunny, its the cutest thing.  We have now cut a door so they can all live happily together.

Fifty Shades of Grey (Fifty Shades, #1)Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L. James

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Worth way more than 5 stars, but hey thats the max they allow:) Freaking awesome, why?? Interesting question as I really didnt think I would like a book like this, to be honest I only read it to see what all the fuss was about. I LOVED it, so glad I pick it up, so is my husband, lol.

Much more of a love story now,I really enjoyed watching Christian change over the course of the books. I thought the sex scenes would get old but apparently they did not:-)

Sesame Street

Sesame Street came to Holloman AFB to visit with all the kids, better yet it was free.  It was a lot of fun and even Masie and Taylor that are a little old for Sesame Street absolutely loved it. They got them all up dancing and joining in with the show.
They did a little bit on military children and how hard it was to leave your home and friends, at first Chris and I looked at each other with concern as Masie is very emotional about this, but they pulled it off.

Daddy, Daughter Run

Chris runs most mornings and Masie wants to always go with him. She wouldn't handle his runs so he took her on a mini one, don't think she will be asking again anytime soon, lol.

One Morning

I started my day like this:
It was so beautiful, only lasted a few minutes so I'm glad I got a picture. You know you are getting old when you think anything can be beautiful at 6.30 AM on a Monday, lol.

Alarm for Hailey

I am so done buying pull ups, so done!! We have tried everything:
Lifting her in the middle of the night
Paying her for dry pull ups
taking away pull ups
pull ups with the cool strip, you get the picture.
The fact is I just don't think she knows when she is going, even without protection she will sleep soaking wet.  So my final attempt before I leave it for her future husband to deal with another few months is an alarm.  I bought it from Amazon and it has good reviews and an average success rate of 2-4 weeks. So I am hoping hoping hoping that we are pull up free by next month.

She gets a sliver star if the alarm wakes her up but she is wet, she gets a gold star for a dry pull up!! Wish us luck.

Ninja Attack

Chris and I are getting ready for bed, when we hear Masie running and crying.  As soon as she reached our room all we saw was her face covered in blood, it was dripping everywhere.  She was meant to be asleep so we panicked, what the hell happened. Once I calmed her she honestly didn't know what happened.  We cleaned her up and saw 2 slice marks, my first thought was Ninjas!! They attacked her in her sleep! Chris suggested it might have been her ceiling fan, this sounded more believable so we are going with it.  I feel so bad, never even thinking about her fan being that close to her bed.
She got a lovely black eye though.

Ouch

So my job is a little different than I expected, I have had some of the best days and seeing break throughs in some of the kids and bonding with the students in my class.  I have also had some of the worst days ever and thinking OMG I can not go back, I didn't sign up for this.  I cant say too much on here but a particular student is very violent and abusive and I stood in the way of him before he attacked another student, and ended up getting hurt.  Although I would do the same thing over again to protect a child, it hurt and I don't like being hurt. This student is now in a spare class room and he has a program we are working with to help him control his anger and out bursts. But they needed someone to run this program, guess who they choose, yep, Me!
I asked the obvious question, WHY ME?? I'm thinking, I'm new and no one else wanted the job. I was nervous but up for the challenge, after working closely with the behavioural specialist I am running the program independently and effectively.  This child is severely Autistic and has bad behaviour on top of it. He can turn on you quicker than you can take a breath but he can also laugh if you tickle him just right. I have bonded with him, I want to help him. I'm positive that this is what I should be doing at this moment in time. He has rough moments and sadly always will but hopefully myself and his team can make it a little easier. Its not an easy job, but I didn't sign up for easy either.  I was told by the behavioural specialist that she choose me because I was new and easier to train than someone that does things their own way, she says my personality is just what he needs.

Today was a good day, I was chosen to be 1 of the 5 members of the Buena Vista Elementary School's BAT team. BAT stands for Behavioural Assistants Team. I am trained to be called and handle situations others can not with a violent student that has lost control, the training went great and I am happy in my work.

Raising Lovely Young Ladies

Manners and politeness is very high if not the highest on my priority list when it comes to raising my girls.  I am very proud to say they are all very polite and pleasant young ladies.  I'm a happy, positive person until it comes to people not being nice to my girls.  Masie came to me after school the other day really upset with her Music/Art teacher. Ive seen the way she is with the children and she is harsh spoken and tells them off for every little thing, to cut it short she is MEAN.  Masie made an appointment to see the principle and bravely went and spoke to her in private. The principle is so great and was really kind.  She told her that she needed to write Mrs Smith a letter and her let her know how she feels.  I would have gone off at her, being the Mother Bear I am but I'm proud to say Masie handled it a different way.  If the teacher continues to act this way she will be spoken to by the principle herself:

Dear Mrs. Smith,
I don't feel safe in your class.
You don't talk nice to us.
Its not just me, I talked to some more students and they said the same.
I want you to change, because I know you are sweet inside.
Thank You (no name given)

This woman has made Masie worried to go to Art class and scared to use her imagination, she was told to put her instrument away in music for playing one note too many. I'm proud that she is taking action and will step in if it continues.

Happy 5th Birthday Hailey

I know her birthday was over a month ago but this Mummy has been busy, I have had the pictures up here for a few weeks but never actually got round to writing the post.  So here goes: Hailey Paige Dorcheus turns 5 years old.  She starts her day try to get out of her room, which I may add she thought was the best thing ever, her face was a picture when she opened her eyes.
Look at my big girl looking gorgeous.

Presents never get old, she had a great time opening gifts.
A carefully taken picture of her in the bath with her green goo, its the most gross stuff you will ever buy. Don't buy it!! It sticks to hair, carpets, the dog and anything else it may come in contact with. It doesn't turn back into water like it says but she is 5 and thought it was pretty cool.
We took her to Wet n Wild for her birthday and it was the best day, she had so much fun trying out all the rides.

She hasn't insisted that we call her Egg for the last few weeks but over the summer "Egg" was her name. When asked what she wanted on her cake she said "Happy Birthday Egg". So she got her wish.

Happy Birthday Hailey
